This piece is beautiful with a color palette that compliments the lighting while still using greens and purples. While I've seen a look of artwork that tries to pull off the dramatic light effect the respective artists usually make the mistake of stick to one color and using different levels of black to make the form. You executed the shading and colors brilliantly and that's something that really stands out in your piece, excellent job!
The lighting goes to all the right spots as I can tell...(the highlights are wonderful oh gosh) I think the right arm could've used more detail in a similar way you did the right ear. The arm's complete black looks a little bit unbalanced and unattached while the ear fits in with their body.
I looked at a few pictures of objects and animals fading into shadow for this next point because like I mentioned before, the lighting is really well executed. I found that as the subject of the picture got deeper and deeper in a shadow, it lost it's definite outline between shapes. You managed that very well. By looking at the way this is painted (specific shading but a few hard outlines for emphasis) I can see you're going for an in-between of a realistic-ly (english is hard sorry -o-) painted picture while still showcasing your own art and style. If anything I would look at the end of the tail for battling against this rule a bit but this can also be ruled down to an artist's choice so I'm not really sure about fussing over it too much.
Onto muscles and perspective!!!
yesyesyes! so good! I'm positive you looked a a bunch of ref with the arm because dang thats hard to do. The muscles are in all the right places while the pose is still intense without looking unnaturally twisted! I really love this about your piece. The first time I looked at this I could immediately tell where their body is going and even when I'm staring it down nit-picking I'm having a hard time finding issues...
In final,
This picture really is stunning and while I have yet to watch the speedpaint (I should've done that first sorry ;_<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/> I think you spent a lot of time looking this one over with a lot of reference. The composition is beautifully done and it manages to be simple in design while details bring you into the picture. Very very nice! I zoomed around on the picture to find things to critique and it was a little bit difficult. Your art still wanted to look fantastic even when I messed around with my laptop's brightness looking for details!! I hope the few little things I found help you in some way!
I look forward to seeing more of your artwork!!
